Lincomycin (brand names include: Lincocin, Lynx) belongs to a class of drugs known as lincosamide antibiotics.

Indications include upper respiratory tract infections, septicemia, and infections of the skin and adjoining tissues.

Lincomycin is also used in veterinary medicine. In dogs it has been shown to be particularly effective in the treatment of upper respiratory infections and skin diseases, including pustular dermatitis, abscesses, infected wounds (including bite and fight wounds), tonsillitis, laryngitis, metritis, and secondary bacterial infections associated with the canine distemper-hepatitis complex.
In cats Lincomycin is used in the treatment of localized infections, such as abscesses following fight wounds, pneumonitis, and feline rhinotracheitis.
