Dexamethasone did wonders for me, however during the first week I experienced some pain and then had that nasty metallic taste in my mouth. But my inflammation was cured completely by this great medication. I would recommend it as the side effects are hardly noticeable.  

Last month during my hay fever attack I had to go to the doctor and get an injection of Dexamethasone. And again this med drove all the problems away. It does work wonderful every time when I am having an acute allergy attack. I have to get a shot about once a year in the early spring. When my eyes, ears, nose, and throat all become involved and inflamed I know it is time to get a Dexamethasone shot.  

I was prescribed with Dexamethasone for my altitude illness. At that time I was working above 13000 feet above the sea level and I felt myself terrible uncomfortable. The medication does wonders - in a couple of minutes after taking a single dose you are no longer short of breath. I haven't noticed any side effects, only mild nausea, but it can not be considered a side effect, as I was vomiting all the time during my work. And Dexamethasone turned to be a salvation. Excellent medication for extreme situations.
