Loxitane is indicated for the treatment of psychotic disorders. It is used for the treatment of schizophrenia.

Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. Take Loxitane exactly as directed.

The dose of Loxitane that your doctor recommends may vary, depending on a number of factors, including:

The severity of your condition
Other medical conditions you may have
Other medications you may be currently taking

The recommended starting dose of Loxitane for schizophrenia is 10 mg twice daily (or up to 25 mg twice daily for severe schizophrenia). Your doctor may increase your dose up to Loxitane 250 mg total per day if necessary.

Loxitane is usually taken by mouth two to four times a day.

You can take Loxitane with or without food.

Loxitane should be taken at the same time(s) each day to maintain an even level in your blood.
