Seroquel Our price
$0.75

Seroquel (generic name: quetiapine; brand names include: Qutipin / Ketipinor) belongs to a group of medicines called atypical anti-psychotics.

Seroquel is used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, also known as manic-depression, in adult patients. Seroquel can help you to keep in touch with reality, stabilize the mood, and reduce your mental problems.

Seroquel is approved for the treatment of depressive and acute manic episodes in bipolar disorder and for long-term maintenance treatment of bipolar disorder in combination with other medications.

Patients taking Seroquel in a clinical trial reported an improvement with a variety of schizophrenia symptoms, including so-called positive and negative symptoms.

Seroquel works by changing the activity of certain natural substances in the brain.

This medication may be prescribed for other uses; ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information.

Recommendations

Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure about anything. Take Seroquel exactly as directed.

Seroquel is taken once or twice a day. Your doctor may adjust your total daily dose between 150mg and 800mg a day depending on your individual treatment and needs. Some people may need more or less than this. Your dose will depend on your response.

Swallow your Seroquel tablets whole with a full glass of water. You can take them before or after food.

Take your doses at regular intervals. Do not take your medicine more often than directed. Do not stop taking Seroquel without first talking to your doctor. Your doctor will probably want to decrease your dose gradually.

If you miss a dose of Seroquel, take the missed dose as soon as you remember it. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.

Contact your pediatrician or health care professional regarding the use of this medicine in children. Special care may be needed. Patients over age 65 years may have a stronger reaction to this medicine and need smaller doses.

Keep your tablets at room temperature. Do not store Seroquel tablets or any other medicine in the bathroom or near a sink. Do not leave Seroquel tablets in the car on hot days.
