Premarin

Premarin Our price
€1.50

Premarin is a form of hormone therapy that contains a combination of estrogens.

Premarin can help you manage the symptoms of menopause.

Premarin is used after menopause to:

Reduce moderate to severe hot flashes
Treat moderate to severe dryness, itching, and burning, in and around the vagina
Help reduce your chances of getting osteoporosis (thin weak bones)

Premarin is also used to:

Treat certain conditions in women before menopause if their ovaries do not make enough estrogen naturally
Ease symptoms of certain cancers that have spread through the body, in men and women

In general, you can expect relief from your moderate to severe menopausal symptoms to begin quickly with Premarin. You may begin to feel relief from hot flashes in 1 to 3 weeks.

Hot flashes and night sweats are likely to become less frequent and intense. This trend in improvement should continue over time.

Relief from vaginal symptoms - dryness, burning, and itching - may take 3 weeks.

Recommendations

Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. Take Premarin exactly as directed.

The usual dose is one Premarin tablet at the same time each day.

Estrogens should be used at the lowest dose possible for your treatment only as long as needed. You and your healthcare provider should talk regularly (for example, every 3 to 6 months) about the dose you are taking and whether you still need treatment with Premarin.

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal schedule. Do not take 2 doses at the same time.

Keep Premarin at room temperature, away from heat and moisture.

Precautions

Before taking Premarin, tell your doctor if:

you are allergic to any medicines;
you currently have or have had certain cancers;
you had a stroke or a heart attack in the past year; or you have blood clots or liver problems;
you think you may be pregnant.
