Nuzide (Gliclazide)

Gliclazide (brand names include: Nuzide/ Glizid / Glyloc / Reclide / Diamicron) is an anti-diabetic drug used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes.

Gliclazide was shown to protect human pancreatic beta-cells from hyperglycemia-induced apoptosis.

It was also shown to have an antiatherogenic effect (preventing accumultaion of fat in arteries) in type 2 diabetes.
