Insulin Glargine (Lantus)

Insulin Glargine (Lantus Solostar) is an insulin analogue used to control blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes.

Lantus is long acting and has a 24-hour duration of action, providing continuous, steady effect with no pronounced peaks of action.

Lantus is manufactured by Sanofi-Aventis and is available as a pre-filled pen of 3 ml cartridge, 100 unit/mL. It is shipped with dry ice to ensure protection from heat and temperature fluctuations during transit.

Lantus can be used by patients with both type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
