Tenofovir disoproxil (trade names include: Viread / Tenvir) is an antiviral medication used in the treatment of chronic hepatitis B and HIV/AIDS .

Tenofovir can also be used for prevention of HIV/AIDS.

Tenofovir disoproxil is available under the trade name Tenvir manufactured by Cipla.

Tell your doctor before taking Tenofovir, if:

you have kidney problems or are undergoing kidney dialysis treatment, you have bone problems or liver problems including Hepatitis B Virus infection;
you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
