Cardura
Cardura (generic name: Doxazosin; brand names: Carduran / Cascor / Doxadura / Doxacard) is an alpha blocker used for treating high blood pressure and treating signs and symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
In high blood pressure Cardura works by relaxing muscles in the blood vessels. This allows blood and oxygen to circulate more easily around the body, lowering blood pressure and reducing the strain on the heart.
In BPH, Cardura works by relaxing muscles around the urethra (the tube that drains urine from the bladder), which improves urinary symptoms. Cardura relieves symptoms such as a weak stream, dribbling, incomplete emptying of the bladder, frequent urination, and burning during urination.
