Apixaban
Apixaban (trade names include: Apigat / Eliquis) is an anticoagulant medication (blood thinner).
Apixaban is used to:
reduce the risk of stroke and blood clots in patients with atrial fibrillation
treat and prevent blood clots in the veins of the legs (deep vein thrombosis) or lungs (pulmonary embolism) in patients who have undergone hip or knee replacement surgery
Apixaban is available as 2.5 mg and 5 mg tablets manufactured by Pfizer.
