Carbimazole

Carbimazole (brand names include: Neo-Mercazole / Vidalta / Camazol) is used for treating hyperthyroidism.

Carbimazole is a pro-drug which after absorption is converted to the active form, methimazole. It then works to reduce the production of the thyroid hormones T3 and T4.

Carbimazole is available under the brand name Neomercazole.
