Mirapex
Mirapex (generic name: Pramipexole; brand mames include: Mirapexin / Sifrol) belongs to a class of drugs known as dopamine agonists.
Mirapex is indicated for the treatment of moderate-to-severe primary Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS).
Mirapex has been shown to relieve the frequency and severity of the symptoms of primary RLS, including the urge to move one's legs. It provides effective long-term relief.
In clinical trials patients taking Mirapex for RLS have shown a significant improvement in the frequency and severity of many RLS symptoms. In a clinical trial, 72% of patients on Mirapex experienced significant symptom improvements.
Mirapex is also approved by the FDA for treating the signs and symptoms of Parkinson's disease. In a clinical study, patients recently diagnosed with Parkinson's disease had improvement in their activities of daily living.
Mirapex can be used alone, or in combination with other therapies, and is effective in treating both early and advanced stages of the disease.
