Aleve
Aleve (generic name: naproxen; brand names include: Xenobid / Anaprox / Miranax / Naprogesic / Naprosyn / Naprelan / Proxen / Synflex) belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (or NSAIDs).
Aleve is effective for:
minor pain of arthritis
headache
muscular aches
toothache
backache
common cold
menstrual cramps
temporarily reduces fever
Aleve can provide relief from tough pain with just two pills.
Aleve works by temporarily blocking the body's production of naturally occurring chemicals called prostaglandins which play a direct role in pain and inflammation.
Recomendaciones
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. Take Aleve exactly as directed.
Take Aleve by mouth. It may be taken with or without food.
Take one tablet, caplet, gelcap, or capsule every 8 to 12 hours while symptoms last. For the first dose, you may take 2 tablets, caplets, gelcaps, or capsules within the first hour.
Do not exceed 2 tablets, caplets, gelcaps or capsules in any 8- to 12-hour period and do not exceed 3 tablets, caplets, gelcaps, or capsules in a 24-hour period. The smallest effective dose should be used. Drink a full glass of water with each dose.
Do not take Aleve for more than 10 days for pain, or for more than 3 days for fever, unless directed by a doctor.
If you miss a dose of Aleve and you are taking it regularly, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
Keep Aleve at room temperature, away from light and moisture.
Precauciones
Before taking Aleve, tell your doctor if:
you are allergic to any medicines;
you have severe liver, kidney, stomach or heart problems;
you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
